Savoy's 2010 production will be Gilbert and Sullivan's melodramatic comic opera, Ruddigore. to be performed on May 28 & 29 at 8:00 p.m. at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, and on June 11 & 12 at 8:30 p.m. at the outdoor theater in Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square.
Ruddifore was first performed on January 22, 1887 at the Savoy Theater in London. It opened at New York's Fifth Avenue Theater on February 22, 1887. Our 2010 season will mark Savoy's seventh production of the opera, which we first performed in 1935. Additional productions were in 1951, 1962, 1973, 1986 and 1998
